First, there were those teenagers who did a shot-for-shot remake of Raiders of the Lost Ark, which took them years to make (see the first ten minutes here).
Then, some young filmmakers and fans of A Goofy Movie recreated one of the musical numbers with real people. And it was pretty good actually. See their recreation here.
Now, as if in a show of one-upsmanship, these two filmmakers did a shot-for-shot live action remake of Toy Story. The whole thing. With toys. Even if they had to make them. It’s pretty damn impressive. Check it out here. And if you can’t actually stomach watching the whole thing, skip through it just to see how they handled certain elements (Pizza Planet, Sid’s room, the car chase at the end, etc.). Even if you find the 2 filmmakers mad, you’ve gotta give them credit for taking the time (2 years!) to do this. Gotta love motivation!
