Meet Your Host

Alex Kormann

Alex Kormann was born and raised in New Jersey, where his earliest memories of photography involve playing with his father’s film cameras as a child.

In 2014, photography took on a deeper meaning for him after his father passed away from cancer. It became a personal form of therapy, and through sharing his father’s story, he witnessed firsthand the power of storytelling and its ability to make a meaningful impact on others. That realization solidified his passion for visual storytelling.

Kormann went on to study photojournalism at UNC-Chapel Hill and was hired by the Minneapolis Star Tribune shortly after graduating. After spending two years in Duluth, he now lives and works in Minneapolis.

He has a particular interest in long-form storytelling and enjoys working with medium format film. In addition to his work as a photojournalist, he is also a co-host of the Star Wars Generations podcast on TruStory FM.
