Mickey Rourke plays a down-on-his-luck private eye named Harry Angel, who gets hired by a creepy rich guy, Louis Cyphre (Robert De Niro). If that name doesn’t set off alarm bells, just wait until you see him with his long fingernails and pentagram ring. Angel’s job seems simple: track down a missing singer named Johnny Favorite.
But here’s the thing—everyone Angel talks to about Favorite ends up dead, usually in some pretty gruesome ways. The investigation takes him to New Orleans, where he discovers that Favorite was involved in some serious occult stuff.
As Angel digs deeper, he starts having strange flashbacks and visions and eventually realizes that Cyphre hiring him was absolutely no coincidence. The whole thing spirals into a nightmare about identity, soul-selling, and a classic deal with the devil!
