Cosmatos and producer Carlo Ponti joined forces to create their own entry in the genre: The Cassandra Crossing. With an all-star ensemble cast including Sophia Loren, Richard Harris, Burt Lancaster, Martin Sheen, OJ Simpson, and Ava Gardner, the film aimed to capitalize on the decade’s love for big-budget spectacles filled with peril and suspense.
