Minute Twelve: From Cheering Steve Up to the Start of Something Starky
Joining us on the show today and all week, it’s Kyle Olson and Rob Kubasko from seasons two and three!
In the twelfth minute of Joe Johnston’s 2011 film Captain America: The First Avenger…
Steve’s glum, so what’s Bucky supposed to do? He tries cheering Steve up, of course! But let’s face it – it’s his last night here before shipping off so he doesn’t want to hang out with his blue friend. So why not take Steve to the future?
Bucky shows Steve his newspaper. Turns out, the World Expo of Tomorrow’s happening and so they head off through a wonderful dissolve. There, they meet Connie and Bonnie, though it really seems like Bucky has two dates and Steve has none. At some point, Steve mysteriously buys some plot peanuts and we get to talk about the fantastic Synthetic Man Easter egg.
We end the minute with the introduction to Stark’s show and have a brief chat about a subtle but interesting line change from script to screen.
Rob and Kyle love talking about Expos. Tune in!
