Minute Twenty-One: From The Avengers Initiative’s Status to Angry Steve

Jonathan Carlisle from UHF 62nd and The Princess Bride Minute joins us in this episode!

In the twenty-first minute of The Avengers

We wrap up our conversation about this scene featuring Nick talking to the World Security Council. Why are they designed like some shadow organization? Is it just to give us a sense that Fury also has to answer to someone? And why doesn’t the conversation feel like it resolves? The end of it does provide a great transition to the next scene, but it feels like we’re not getting any answers here.

The next scene, though, does give us some great stuff. This is Steve Rogers in a boxing ring. We talk about how we’ve seen this as our cut scene at the end of the last film. Why is Steve angry? And why those particular images in his flashbacks? Does it simply boil down to who they didn’t have to pay for footage use?

We also talk about the first of our big deleted scenes featuring more of Steve’s back story. Would it have helped to have this included? We think so. Tune in!
