Michael Tominna is Director for Technology in Practice for DLA Piper, one of the world’s largest law firms, with 4,000 attorneys supporting staff in equal number. Michael and his team have finished an upgrade to their robust search application, originally deployed in 2012. He joins us for a conversation around the opportunities and enhancements that come to users this year. Their implementation, which Michael discussed at the International Legal Technology Association conference, aimed to make searching for information more efficient while breaking down information silos using BA Insight software. Their objective:
- help their users find content faster, more accurately, and more efficiently
- provide attorneys the tools to find all available knowledge within the firm and to be able to easily reuse that knowledge
- reduce the gap time between non-billable events across the firm
- reduce information silos
- and create a unified view of information — improving visibility of all the firms’ assets.
