SiriusXM and Pandora ‘Stand for Sonic Diversity’

In this episode of Cause Talk Radio, Alli and Megan chat with Nicole Hughey, VP Vice President, Diversity & Inclusion at SiriusXM + Pandora about a new initiative called “Stand for Sonic Diversity”. The program’s goal is to “break the sonic color line and redefine the sound of the American voice.”

Nicole explains what the “sonic color line” is and a few of the best practices they’re championing in their outreach to brands, agencies, marketers, publishers, and media companies to diversify the voices we hear on audio mediums.

The three also discuss how this effort ladders up into the larger DEI work at SiriusXM and Pandora, what smaller companies can do to embrace sonic diversity and how critical it is to start with an audit of your existing creative to identify and flag stereotypes.
