There have been some great British music biopics in the last year. They tend to garner some criticism for the way that history is manipulated to make movie drama. Also each one handles the original artists’ music in different ways. This month, Danny Boyle’s “Yesterday” was released in theaters and it shares with us the joy and the experience of The Beatles’ music by imagining a world where they didn’t exist.
Pokémon Detective Pikachu

You may or may not have a connection to the world of the pocket monsters affectionately called Pokémon, but this month The Film Board is following its new movie in theaters that seeks to sate the adorable appetites of fans young and old in Pokémon Detective Pikachu.
Avengers: Endgame

Captain Marvel

Attention true believers! The Film Board is a party to the home stretch of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase three. It’s wrapping up in two successive months here in 2019. The big one of course is next month’s Avengers: Endgame, but first let’s dig into the penultimate Captain Marvel.

First Man

Buckle up for an intense journey on this one with the Film Board as we examine the story of struggles and successes that adorn the space race and the USA’s historic effort to reach the Moon. First Man is a Neil Armstrong biopic delivered to us by Oscar Winning Director Damien Chazelle.
The Predator

Written and Directed by Film Board favorite Shane Black, we’re excited to examine what’s new and different about Predator as well as the appropriate level of homage to the classic-ly clever sci-fi action horror hybrid.
