Flickchart Re-Ranking • April 2022
It’s our monthly member bonus episode in which we do some re-ranking on our Flickchart page to see what changes happen. And we battle with rock-paper-scissors a bit too.
With over 25 years of experience in film, television, and commercial production, Andy has cultivated an enduring passion for storytelling in all its forms. His enthusiasm for the craft began in his youth when he and his friends started making their own movies in grade school. After studying film at the University of Colorado Boulder, Andy wrote, directed, and produced several short films while also producing indie features like Netherbeast Incorporated and Ambush at Dark Canyon.
Andy has been on the production team for award-winning documentaries such as The Imposter and The Joe Show, as well as TV shows like Investigation Discovery’s Deadly Dentists and Nat Geo’s Inside the Hunt for the Boston Bombers. Over a decade ago, he started podcasting with Pete and immediately embraced the medium. Now, as a partner at TruStory FM, Andy looks forward to more storytelling through their wide variety of shows.
Throughout his career, Andy has passed on his knowledge by teaching young minds the crafts of screenwriting, producing, editing, and podcasting.
Outside of work, Andy is a family man who enjoys a good martini, a cold beer, a nice cup o’ joe. And always, of course, a great movie.

We continue moving through our Coming of Age Debuts series with 2003’s film ‘Thirteen’ by Catherine Hardwicke. It’s a tough look into life as a thirteen-year-old girl when you start hanging out with the wrong crowd. Check it out then tune in!
Our ‘Coming of Age Debuts’ series continues! This week, we’re taking on Sofia Coppola and her debut feature film ‘The Virgin Suicides.’ It’s a hallucinatory, haunting film about memory and growing up. We had a great time revisiting it and have a great conversation about it, so check it out then tune in!
Andy Nelson wishes you all a fine top of YOUR mornings in the big chair with Tommy Metz III and an about-time-finally return to our very own Ray DeLancey this week.
We’re in our hiatus between ‘Thor’ and ‘Captain America: The First Avenger.’ Seems like a perfect place to discuss the Marvel One-Shot ‘The Consultant.’
It’s our March member bonus episode! We return to our ‘Couples on the Run’ series from 2013 with David Lynch’s 1990 Palm D’Or winner ‘Wild at Heart.’ Is it too much Lynch craziness or just enough? Are Nicolas Cage and Laura Dern too over the top? Do they even come near the craziness of Diane Ladd? We dig in and may not agree but have a great conversation about it so tune in!
We continue our Coming of Age Debuts series with Lynne Ramsay’s 1999 film ‘Ratcatcher.’ How does she do right out of the gate? We loved ‘We Need to Talk About Kevin.’ Do we see hints at what Ramsay does there in this earlier film? And what does this film say about coming of age in Glasgow 1973? Tune in to find out!
We continue our Coming of Age Debuts series with Tamara Jenkins’ first film, 1998’s ‘Slums of Beverly Hills.’ This film feels like a solid representation of what ‘coming of age’ means. How does the film work for us? Does the comedy hold up? And Jenkins’ direction? Tune in to find out!
We kick off our series on Coming of Age Debuts with Mira Nair’s first narrative feature. It’s ‘Salaam Bombay!’ from 1988. It’s a realistic look at life on the streets for a kid in the slums of Bombay. What do we think of the film? Tune in to find out!
May the luck o’ the Irish be with both of us as we struggle to come out on top with this month’s member bonus Flickchart Re-Ranking. Happy March 2022 everyone! Enjoy!
