Minute Seven: From Shattering the Tesseract to A Snake in the Roots
Joining us on the show today and all week, we have Kurtis Findlay from the Epic Marvel Podcast.
In the seventh minute of Joe Johnston’s 2011 film Captain America: The First Avenger…
Schmidt, the bumbling fool, drops the Tesseract and shatters it! His lieutenant is shocked! But wait, what’s this? It was a fake?!??! That Schmidt turns out to be one smart cookie. And the Tower Keeper knew it all along. They know you don’t bury something like that.
We talk about Schmidt’s threat and the Tower Keeper’s almost-too-subtle gesture that tells Schmidt that it’s hidden in the bas-relief of Yggdrasil on the wall. But where?
Schmidt seems to know an awful lot about the world tree, and we do as well thanks to Thor last season. But turns out there are snakes in its roots. We talk a bit about the snakes and what they’re up to.
Schmidt seems to know what he’s looking for. Did he know all along and was fooling with the Tower Keeper? He zeroes right in on the snake head as he talks about Asgardian history.
He’s getting closer and closer to what he’s looking for. Tune in!
