Minute Eighty Seven: From A Somewhat Peaceful New Jersey Field to Iron Man Spinning the Turbine
Playwright Dean O’Carroll joins us in this episode!
In the eighty-seventh minute of The Avengers…
We leave Thor in the field and return to Loki, happy to have rid himself of his brother again. It turns out Coulson’s not dead though, and he’s got some things to say to Loki. It may be things he needs to get off his chest, it may be a distraction to ready his weapon. Either way, they work and it seems he gets just enough under Loki’s skin by calling him out as someone who lacks conviction. Loki voices a few reasons as to perhaps his motivations for letting himself get caught as well – he’s divided the team and damaged the helicarrier.
But that’s when Coulson gets a shot off with his Destroyer Armor Prototype Gun, aka the Bambino, and it’s a doozy of a shot, blasting Loki through an iron wall. Too bad he’s relatively unfazed.
On the bridge, everyone’s in panic mode as two engines are now down. So why is everyone on the bridge listing with the ship, but no one else in the ship seems to be reacting? Story convenience is our answer. Fury’s watching the altimeter drop, and so is Tony as he gets ready to start spinning the turbine for engine three. Tune in!
