2022-04-16 • Saturday Matinée

Happy US Tax Day everyone! Ok, it was yesteday as we share our Saturdays with you but makes us think about tax movies all the same. This week, Pete Wright hosts Kyle Olson and Tommy Metz III and we kick things off with Tommy’s strong feelings about The Secret and parking your car.

The publisher of EW has announced that April 2022 will be the last print edition of the magazine as they double-down on digital. We talk about business units, which is why this podcast has chapters that you can skip through.

Kyle wants to talk about Nimona and the long and winding road the film has taken to find its way from Disney’s fear of LGBTQ+ and over to Netflix. A relief for what looks to be a cool property. Go read the book.

Tommy has seen Ambulance and shares his love for drone cinematography. Here’s the studio video on it. But here’s Potato Jet’s vlog on it in which he interviews the drone camera operators, Bay, and cast. It’s bananas.

OK, so, we might have fallen off the modifier train as some of these aren’t exactly notorious, but we do offer a handful of great slaps in film!
