We’re done talking about the movies. Now let’s talk about the series.
We have come to the end of our 90s Comedies series, exploring four films from directors Fran Rubel Kuzui, Amy Heckerling, Stacy Title, and Tamra Davis, as well as a member bonus episode. All told, we covered Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Clueless, The Last Supper, Billy Madison, and Body Heat as our member bonus which returned us to our 1981 series. So what did we – Pete Wright and Andy Nelson – think about not just the films but the series as a whole?
Here’s a hint at what we talk about.
How does the comedy work? What are they saying about the times? Any commonalities? How about the performances? And how did we not notice until now that all four films deal with students in one form or another? We finally rank all of the films on Flickchart. It was a fun series, though perhaps not one of our favorites. Regardless, it’s the end of our 11th season. Next up when we return for season 12, which focuses on franchises and series, we’re kicking things off with the original Star Wars trilogy! The Next Reel – when the movie ends, our conversation begins! Join the conversation with movie lovers from around the world on The Next Reel’s Discord channel!
