We’re done talking about the movies. Now let’s talk about the series.
We have come to the end of our Back to the Future series, exploring three films from director Robert Zemeckis: Back to the Future, Back to the Future Part II, and Back to the Future Part III. So what did we – Pete Wright and Andy Nelson – think about not just the films but the series as a whole?
Does the Back to the Future trilogy stand up through today’s eyes?
There are definitely elements within the three films that don’t hold up as well as they did in the 80s and early 90s. How does that affect our viewing of the films? What about any social elements of the films? And how does their understanding of time travel work?
We add the films to our Flickchart along with several of our recent member bonus episodes – Memories of Murder and 10 Cloverfield Lane.
We had a great time revisiting this trilogy, even if it was a firm reminder of how the first one stands up so much higher than its successors. Next up – the Pitch Perfect trilogy! The Next Reel – when the movie ends, our conversation begins!
